The cream of the crop in terms of whisky from Amrut house, this Two Continents are only 1260 bottles produced. An exclusive whisky at a very reasonable price considering the superior quality and taste.

    • Nose
Sour, tart. Unripe lemon, sorrel, thyme and a hint of caraway seeds. Cinnamon cookies. Root Beer. A touch of tree sap.
    • Taste
Candied lemon, cotton candy. Garden herbs. Some ginger and a touch of salted peanuts.

    Sample

Starts lactic, sour. A boatload of vanilla, coconut, gulab jamun, orange skin. Orange picks up on the palate with a smattering of spices (allspice). It’s nice, if not a little wood driven and simple.

  6. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

Slightly sprightly, otherwise fruit, Indian spices, harmonious and mild, unfortunately a bit thin. Still good whisky.

Nose: starts with an avalanche of vanilla , rose water , some wood varnish. Exotic fruit , and baklava.
Palate: malty spicy, with a nutty edge. Oak and cumin. A rather unique combination.
Finish: bitter wood, dough, spice, bread crust.Bottom line:

A very interesting dram, at 50% it’s very very good,I’d say more East than west with the spices, vanilla and baklava and cumin. Good stuff, and what a great experiment in maturation. Keep it up Amrut.

    • Nose
Aromas of grain, peat and subtle notes of wax, honey, licorice, moss and candle wax
    • Taste
Beautiful round flavors of nutmeg, ginger and licorice with notes of cereals, vanilla and a hint of fruit
    • Finish
A short but tasty, spicy finish

  11. Erik Elixir scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

N: chipolata, creamy, raisins (boerenjongens), sherry and apples
T: apple, sourish (like the Auchentoshan classic) and dusty
F: short, white grapes, dusty and aniseed
    tasted with Dramclub of DH17

Two Continents refers to the fact that this is matured in India and then

Europe. But Amrut has tweaked the winning formula of the first edition,

taking the alcoholic strength from 46% to 50% and using bourbon instead

of grain casks for European maturation. The changes are immediately

noticeable. The nose is honeyed, with key lime pie, and strawberries and

cream. The taste is spikier, spicier, and feistier than before, with

dark cherry, blood orange, and unripe banana.
