nice whisky but age-diminished vibrancy of an older/fuller Speyside style.  not recommended to add water
    • Nose
oranges (marmalade jam), banana, floral, spicy, old library
    • Taste
honey-sweet (but well under control), ripe oranges again, spicy and complex.  good body.  flattens out on palate a bit.
    • Finish
      herbal, walnut

Notes from an online blind tasting.
    What a pipe, ey...!
    • Nose
      Colour:
      dirty gold

      Nose:
Nail polish remover, cooling note of menthol, spicy herbs, a bit oriental. Demandingly impetuous. Candied apple, has something of a rather light sherry aroma. Bit of tobacco, coniferous wood, gooseberries and powdered sugar.
With a little time in the glass, the colleague develops much sweeter.
    • Taste
Strong, aromatic attack. Then syrupy sweetness with some clove spice. Hazelnut, nougat.
In terms of taste, I find the sherry flavors to be significantly darker. In the form of blackberries and dry wood. Powdered sugar here too. Also slightly musty.
    • Finish
Rather long. Sweet yet neat matching oak spice.

Dailuaine 35 yo 1976/2011 (50.6%, The Whisky Agency, bourbon hogshead, 148 bottles) Four stars and a half I remember James MacArthur had an excellent 1976 seven years ago. Colour: full gold. Nose: quite a fruit bomb at first nosing, with many jams and many syrups with a nice spice mix on top of all that (star anise, cinnamon…) Calms down after a few minutes (well, seconds), becoming a tad drier but also more complex despite a vanilla side that got louder. Lime-blossom, oriental pastries, cedar wood… Mouth: rich and creamy, with the kind of oakiness that’s both heavy and an asset to the whisky, if you see what I mean. Honey and oak, oranges and oak, milk chocolate and oak, vanilla and… Anyway, a very pleasant, fresh and creamy profile with an excellent fruitiness. Finish: long, more peppery and gingery. A lot of liquorice in the aftertaste. Comments: all much to my liking, Dailuaine is big whisky. SGP:652 - 89 points.

An insane dram. Rich, luscious and stunningly creamy. Feels like a very, very luxurious whisky.
    • Nose
Cream and yoghurt. Very very rich like chocolate mousse. Some wood polish and fruit underneath, pinned by a lovely mint back nose. Bananas and guava fruit.
    • Taste
Yoghurt and cream with a rich dairy flavour. Dark chocolate pralines and richness with a delicate oakness behind it.
    • Finish
Very very long and oily with sweet fruits.
