Whisky Reviews for Caperdonich 1972 W-F

- Tasted on a sunny holiday afternoon in the Algarve, Portugal. Tnx Rick for the sample! Took some time to taste it.
Lots of yellow apples followed by pineapple and melon.. Very fresh and tropical. We're in 1972 territories again. Grasy notes at the background.
Sweet and sugared barey. More cut grass now intermingled with gooseberries. Cedar wood. Some buttery notes as well. Hints of vanilla and toffee. Later on bitterness of grapefruit. Also lemon.
Medium long. Some pepper. Nutmeg. Also ginger a little spearmint.
- Have to say he made me a little disappointed, that it is my favorite distillery and then at the age. He is just quite bright and monotonous, but still very good quality.
Very light, lots of pear, pure pear puree, vanilla, light honey, shortbread, green apple, already typical Caperdonich, but blind more like a 14-16 year old, some sweet pineapple
Like the nose, a lot of pear, vanilla, honey, green apple, some kiwi and pineapple, toffee, from the middle then suddenly a violent oak edge, the age still comes through, but rather inharmonious to the fruit part, dry herbs, oregano, rosemary, Ginger, anise, salt and lavender
Again, a bit short, especially for the age, oak, herbal honey, green apple and ginger
- In view of the many fruits of this drop must contain an extremely high amount of vitamin C and certainly has a preventative effect against colds!
There comes an exotic fruit bomb first class, a bit grassy, also white chocolate, tropical wood
Honey, fruits, slightly kinked
and then the fruit bomb explodes, slightly peppery, wonderfully supported by cedar wood
- Wow! There are fruity Capers that are more in your face, but this subtle
beauty really hits me where it counts. Thanks, Christof!
Bam, right of the bat! Fruit bomb! Loads of sweet fruit, both from the
orchard and the tropics, drenched in light honey. It has a wonderful mineral
quality as well. And that fantastic trace of smoke that you often find in
Capers from 1972. Wonderful and grand, without being loud. A rather subtle
beauty, like the quiet girl in the back row in class that you inexplicably were
always in love with. Too much information?
The attack is rather soft, with loads of fruit again, but also walnuts
and green tea. A soft, but wonderful bitterness. Citrus and banana emerge. Yes,
lime and lemon become louder all the time. The smoke is present on the palate
as well. Subtle, but great.
The long finish on spices and citrus turns this into a fantastic feast.
- Elegant and well balanced
Apples (green), Pears, a little fresh herbs, honey and a weak oaky background.
Sweet taste of apples, vanilla and increasing soft spices
finish is mild with vanishing spices and a vague tendency of bitter almonds
- Massive Fuits and Honey
