Again a 'naked' and clean Speyburn from probably not a very active bourbon cask. Reminds me of those green Cadenhead bottles from the 1990s with high alcohol fire water in it.
    • Nose
Starts quite astringent with lots of Granny Smith apples and lemon skin. Artichokes. Herbal notes of leaves and thyme. Later on touch of juniper berries and nettle. Camomile and a little camphor as well.
    • Taste
Quite a punchy alcohol kick immediately followed by lots of spices and resin. Green olives, and parsley. Hot citric notes of peel zest and grape seeds. Toasted almonds in the background. It's all quite lean, spirity and raw with an oily mouthfeel.
    • Finish
Fairly dry. Ginger. A little spearmint. Salt at the end.

Young! Speyburn is really good. This malt scratches the Rare Malts territory a lot and could come from this series.
    • Nose
Color: gold with a sunset tinge

      Nose:
it takes a lot of time, but then! If he has one thing, then it is power, it eats its way into the mucous membranes, but with the scent, it can! Overall quite fragile and filigree with yellow fruits, honey, pollen and beeswax, freshly cut brown bread, diffuse smoky note and a pear (but maybe I want to smell it)
    • Taste
Wow .... a spicy start, white pepper, oak, vanilla, immediately a warming finish - the way down to the stomach is clearly marked by spreading warmth. Once flushed through all the mucous membranes, there is a nice sugared oak note. Smoky. He can take a sip of water.
Water: a little more. A few drops do not change anything. Now a clear and beautiful honey note on the nose. A little malt and the fruity apricot is back. The taste is now wonderfully balanced, no longer as peppery, now more sweet but without losing the bite. It's REALLY good. In the background, there is also a herbal note that makes the honey taste more delicious. Great stuff.
    • Finish
      Honey, oak, smoke

A great, complex part. There is much more to discover here!
    • Nose
      Colour:
      Shiny, bright gold

      Nose:
First, I have warm herbal tea and neat vanilla. And you can tell, that's just apple pie time. I have yeast dough and baked apples and a hint of cinnamon. A flowery note is behind. The alcohol is very back. I'll leave something ...
Now the herbs are much clearer. But also wood and hay. Somehow smells like old barn. Some solvent and cocoa. A nice interplay between cooked fruit sweetness with honey and oak.
    • Taste
First gentle rolling with honey and vanilla. Then the colleague makes room. The 62.5% push you now properly the flavors in. A fruit basket of preserved fruit. Herbs and also in the taste of the bit bitter cocoa. Marzipan, I have thick, creamy marzipan in the mouth. And here too some cinnamon. The taste actually reminds me in part of warm waffles with powdered sugar. The goes without problems without water.
    • Finish
Long and a little spicier. Still nice and creamy with a pleasant bitterness
