Stunning old whisky. The obe makes him irresistible. 40% but no moment of weakness.
    • Nose
Very old nose. Plum, slight exoticism, pineapple. Very metallic. Old dust, rust. Old book. Engine oil. White pepper.
    • Taste
On the palate it is sweet, oily, on wax, white and yellow fruit. The metallic, the obe, the dust.
      Peach apricot. White flower.
It is surrounded by a nice sweetness. Superb for 40%
    • Finish
Final light enough on the obe, the fruits. The pear, the white flower.

A quick review of a single small dram of my first Millburn.
    • Nose
      84 84
Sweet with some elusive fruit notes.
      Lightly zesty.
      A bit of musky wood.
    • Taste
      85 85
Oily texture, even a hint of machine oil on the palate.
      Extremely bold and spicy.
Actually so much so it gave me a light heart burn... that's a first for a 40%
    • Finish
      86 86
      Hard sweet caramel.
The spice contribute to a medium+ length.

    Colour:
    Amontillado
    Nose:
Lime, grapefruit, orange, blueberries and elderberry - the fruit track is there! In addition there is leather, tobacco, wood, furniture polish, honey, dark chocolate and spicy cereals as well as malt, nuts and soft pickled herbs - simply delicious !!
    Taste:
Oooh, watery-thin - too thin on the tongue! Slightly herbaceous and quite tart. The fruit notes have disappeared and the taste is only tart and woody-bland. Without any pep and without anything that advertised the nose - very, very bad ... was the bottle open too long ?!
    Finish:
Max. Medium length - fresh, tart, woody and quite dry. Finishing with nuts, chocolate notes, cocoa powder and spicy herbs.
    Comment:
A very brilliant nose followed ... unfortunately a lot of "nothing"!
