  1. LiquidThoughts scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

Very full and power behind it, ingenious sweetness with a lot of freshness and acidity but to balance it out, almost perfectly matured!
    • Nose
Dream nose, almost perfect my taste, tropics, hearty sweetness, honeydew melon, mango, net melon, plus camphor, saffron, candied ginger, lots of Manuka honey and brown sugar, marzipan, banana in honey
    • Taste
Great mango bomb, papaya, then again cherry and raspberries, lemon zest, lots of light herbal honey, pecans, macadamia, marzipan, demerara sugar, camphor, fennel removed, ginger, sweet popcorn, quince
    • Finish
Ginger comes out clearly, camphor, honey, pecans, citrus zest, green apple, long

This is part of the 5 x Caperdonich 1972 tasting.

    This is the 3rd dram
    • Nose
      90 90
Intense, with very obvious Chinese traditional herbs ob the front. Creamy and sweet, old room dusty and musky notes.
    • Taste
      90 90
Creamy and sweet, very big honey. Fruits are more subtle in the Caper.
    • Finish
      88 88
Medium long, with sherry nuttiness, slightly dry, and some wood tannin.

Caperdonich 1972 very good like almost all of this year. A big fruit bomb, which deserves a little more personality and expression.
    • Nose
Nose mainly on the fruit. Apricot, peach, pineapple, apple, pear. Orange, grapefruit.
Elderflower. Branch of freshly cut tree.
      A woody still pronounced.
Light smoking in the fir tree. A bit of caramel caramel and chocolate powder.
      The intensity is quite light.
    • Taste
In the mouth we stay in the same line on the fruit.
      Pineapple, blood orange, peach, plum.
We have a coating of dark chocolate and milk chocolate.
Hazelnuts, nutella. The woody is less pronounced.
    • Finish
      Finer sweeter and more chemical.
Fruit candy, orange, lemon, pineapple. Cassis.
      Woody and chocolate powder.

Very nice. Nose is very enjoyable, dark dried fruits, plums, raisins, muscovadosugar, chocolate and coffe. Little bit of grapefruit in there as well. Nice mouthfeel, dark fruits, little peppery and some acidity in a nice way. Good lenght on the finish, although there comes through a vague metallic aftertaste at the very end. But, all in all, joy & delight!

[November, 2015]  I had this dram during an "30+ years" tasting at Bonn.In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50
    - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 90.  Unfortunately I took no detailed notes.

Nose: Very fruity and mineral-salty. A fruit mix of orange, mandarin, yellow pomaceous fruit and tropical fruits. Underlaid, waxy tea flavors, dried vanilla pods with sweet honey and also here with some gum.
Taste: Gentle and fruity-sweet, then tenderly bitter and fresh. Spicy nut and tobacco flavors with wood and vanilla again. Now more green and bitter notes (green peppers) are added.
Finish: Long - slightly bitter, green tea, licorice and wood, a little bland and getting dry.
    86 points (nose: 89 / taste: 86 / finish: 84)
