  1. ARDBERG did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

    SMWS AT Winter 2003 list:

    Ripe melons and car tires
The whisky enjoys the appreciation of expert whisky blenders and the Society, but as a single malt he has only limited distribution channels. The burnt amber color is reminiscent of bourbon and is a clear indication that it comes from a sherry barrel (is that confusing?). The first scent presents caramel and (surprisingly) the spice and sweet brown sauce. Also in the foreground: dark, but sweet chocolate (Bournville) and baked apples with caramelized brown sugar. The taste is clearly ripe and full-bodied, with a slight heat in the mouth and a fine touch of eraser. With water appear ripe melons and carne-napus, which change into oranges and tangerines. The finish has a trace of salt and a (controversial) plume of smoke.
