    Blind tip:
    Ledaig or Ardbeg
    25+ years
    Bourbon barrel
    Just under 60%

    Resolution:
A port Ellen. Wow. A wonderful part! The light smoke, which allows the fruit notes to bloom completely, is amazing!

Thanks Eneloop2009 for the sample :-D
    • Nose
Light smoke and lots of yellow tropical fruits, I have mango in my nose right away, the smoke becomes more woody over time, mineral to maritime, citrus notes, with time a sugar sweet mixture of ash and dung comes up, the nose becomes sweeter
    • Taste
Sparkling onset, neat pressure on the tongue, effervescent powder, citrus, lots of heat, pleasant oak flavor, lots of sweetness
    • Finish
A Ardbeg finish, lots of citrus notes, subtle but flaming smoke, the heat from the tongue is not so present here, but the yellow fruits remain noticeable for a long time

    Colour:
    Full gold
    Nose:
Somewhat strange and slightly weird - the otherwise found maritime brilliance is more or less completely missing here. In the glass: peat, oranges, wood, leather, salt and some sea air, vanilla and then an unsightly undertone of wet coal and spoiled oranges - dark gray, but with a false tone.
    Taste:
Soft start, spicy and smoky, then becoming more voluminous! Dark gray with lots of coal, ash, peat, asphalt and orange juice. In addition vanilla, wood, bitter notes of toasted wooden barrels and spicy herbs. The "overripe" oranges are no longer so present here!
    Finish:
Long - bitter-bitter and woody-bland. Not exactly what you imagine under Port Ellen. Dry, smoky and really "out of round".
