Tasting notes here: http://www.weinkenner.de/2012/port-ellen-elements-of-islay-pe4-und-pe5-im-direktvergleich-21961/ Color: yellow-gold
Nose: A smoky sweetie that complies a bit more subtle than the Pe5. In addition, traces of fresh herb serums.
Taste: Voluminoese development of rather dry citrus notes, strongly salty and peppery. A bit edgy and not as harmonious as the Pe5.
Finish: very long. Again herbal notes surrounded by beautiful peat-smoke-combination.
Rating: Maechtiger, somewhat schaerferer whisky based on citrus fruits and herbs. Not quite as balanced and round mouth feel as the Pe5, but with more power and bite. 92 points
Price: about 350 to 400 euros
