    SMWS AT Winter 2002 list:

    For courageous men
This bright whisky with ginger-golden reflections is a typically powerful dram from the distillery, whose Gaelic name means "the beautiful valley on the wide bay". Storage in a good oak barrel accelerated its maturation and produced a magnificent specimen. The nose is slightly pungent with impregnating oil, smoke and the typical sea odor of saltwater puddles on the rocky coast. Undiluted remarkably well, with a taste so big that you want to chew it. With a few drops of water, the scent suddenly changes towards plasticine. After a few more minutes pleasant fruity notes develop, a little vanilla and crispy fried smoked bacon. The finish is very long, amazing mouth cooling and uncompromisingly robust. A big, powerful whisky.
