This was ok, but quite forgettable, I do have a full bottle of the 10year old rum cask finish, I hope it's better than this.
    • Nose
Cocoa powder, cinnamon, some herb but I can't name it, rubber gloves you do the dishes with, cinder toffee and some sort of cheap air freshener.
    • Taste
Funny taste of some off fudge, again with the cinnamon and it's quite hoppy. There is a bit of honey on the tongue and corn flake cereal.
    • Finish
The finish is quite short, and more of that off fudge.

Buttery & honeyed basically with some strange slightly bitter rum/vanilla notes. It does get sweeter with time. Not bad, the nose is the best part, certainly easy drinking style wise.

1990's bottling from Corby Distillery. Thanks for the sample Dave!
    • Nose
Lots of glue, pencil shavings and sawdust. In a blind tasting I would guess this to be a single grain whiskey. Fruity sweetness. Hints of ppple blossom. Popcorn and maple syrup. A little nutiness at the background.
    • Taste
Quite soft with a velvety texture. Gingerbread. Chewy butterscotch and sappy oak. Orange marmelade later on. Prune juice as well. It's not very complex but I happen to like this style.
    • Finish
Fades away quickly. Cinnamon. Nutmeg. Grapefuit bitterness at the end.
