Really not bad this 12yo Glendronach, after the grassy nose I thought it would be the same on the palate but it's not, it's much more balanced and thus pretty enjoyable
    • Nose
Pretty fresh, lemony plus grassy (lemongrassy?), honey, old books
    • Taste
Oily, smooth, but not weak or tired at all, pretty fresh, nice balance between little fruity notes and subtle sweetness, honey
    • Finish
Medium long and smooth, lemon zesty

Before the 1996 cessation of production, the characteristics of Donat were floor germination, direct fire distillation, and the use of peat barley. These were changed after the subsequent resumption of production. At the same time, the 70-80s was a small peak period for whisky, and the packaging of this stage was changed. Bottle works are highly regarded now. First of all, I feel the biggest difference from modern products. The smell of sherry is really not as heavy as it is now, and it is more delicate (the orientation of eating buckets will not be so deep, I think it is great); the faint smell of sulfur, Buttery, berry flavors are layered, barrel flavors are relatively low; it is worth mentioning that the malt is very rich, the strong roasted wheat flavor is more common in the old days (RMS); mouth The first experience is that the wine body is quite good, not thin, and the sturdy feeling brought by the direct fire process is still manifested. The flavor is honey, maltose, preserved fruit, etc., with a small amount of dark fruits. The finish is brilliant, long-lasting, powerful, orange-tangerine honey water.
