The variance of these 8yo old dumpy bottlings is very high and so you can have everything from a rather average old whisky up to an excellent fruit bomb.
This one I tried from a freshly opened bottle and it is somewhere in the upper half of the possible bandwidth -
really not bad
Lemon peel, pink grapefruit, honeydew, vanilla, spices, little metallic, some OBE, whiffs of smoke, old books, pretty austere - really not bad
Punchy, oily, fruity subtle sweetness, more lemon peel, more grapefruit, citrusy, little herbal, cigar tobacco, hints of peat, wet hay, little leafy and grassy - pretty good
Medium long, warm, more zesty, herbal, peaty
