  1. St. Pauli scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

    Easily drinkable and pleasant. Not the most complex dram though. Shouldn't always be, this is fun.
    • Nose
      Sugary, sweet and malty. Icing sugar, cherry (the cake topping version), actually also many other confectionery aromas. Next to that, there is honeyed malt, a little bit of cooling mint, vanilla, and sawdust.
    • Taste
      Mint shows pretty much now, together with the sweets, it makes a good combination of fresh and juicy. Further, there is malt and honey. Not utterly complex, but nice!
    • Finish
      Rather long, pleasant, with all kind of fruit candy, just a little bit of pepper, and mint candies.

    Compared with Dailuaine 1982 DD and Dailuaine 1997 SV #7188.
    • Nose
      Malty, citrus, honey and creamy fruits. Almonds - Amaretto, apple, candy and dates and tobacco.
    • Taste
      Dusty, polish, some syrup, honey and fruity. Geat complex, mature and old taste. Even some farmy notes like Brora.
    • Finish
      Malty, citrus, some nuts and fruity. Later some pickle.

    Tasting Notes by Johan, 'Uncut';
    Dailuaine 27y 1983/2011, 50%, Asta Morris, refill sherry hogshead AM004, 248 bottles
    Beautiful nose that starts on dried grass, hay and all kinds of garden herbs. But then he turns into other sensations and is no longer beautiful, but beautiful. Mandarin, butter, soft vanilla, meadow flowers (a walk through a meadow in full bloom). Something from toasted bread. Smeared with honey. Very elegant and delicate nose. Powerful and firm on the tongue, yet soft, nothing sharp. Almost buttery. Perfect drinking strength seems to me. Vanilla cream, ripe orange, hot applesauce, heather, honey, garden herbs (thyme, laurel), nutmeg and some oak. Perfect balance, no drying at any time. And so easy to drink! Long, creamy aftertaste with a little more seasoning here. This one also needed some time to fully come into its own, but then ... a gem . 92/100

    It's not bad but it looks too much like a bourbon. A lot of fresh grapes in the mouth (Cape seedless). It's fruity but I did not feel the sherry too much. Damage because price level, it is super well placed with its 89 €.
