The label states "sherry butt" but I reckon it was not a PX- or a Oloroso-cask.
    • Nose
Vanilla, soft cake-dough, butter, honey and green apples.
    • Taste
      Honey and vanilla.
    • Finish
Buttery cake-dough remains a bit longer, very nice.

Middle of the road. Tasty but nothing special.

Smell is rich. Sweet, toffee, creamy, sweet fruit, mix of strawberry, pineapple with ripe fruit compote. Body is nice and thick and sweet. Nice and smooth.
Finish is also smooth, sweet vana caramel with something funkies, resembling ripe tomato, against the rotten. That really spoils the otherwise delicious whisky.

A surprising taste and flavour for a young Craigellachie. I like it!

A good whisky, but the aroma is by far over promises an otherwise good but non exemplary dram.
    • Nose
( 25/25) Subtle but very pleasing hints of peat and fresh mint, with white grapes, vanilla, and wow bubble gum.  If a whisky aroma could talk softly and carry a big stick it would likely be somewhere around these lines.  Nothing smacks you in the face, but there is a  lot of very interesting things going on when you really get in there with it.
    • Taste
( 21/25) A lot of mint and vanilla, touch of burnt sugar, a very sweet dram, some lemon and green apple hard candies.
    • Finish
( 20/25) Hard to describe, very potent dried fruits, mostly raisins, figs, apricots, with a lot of cinnamon, a touch of peat, and oak.
