    Old school whisky.
even with only 43% class dram - which is very complex.
    • Nose
      92 92
The gentleman needs time for the aromas to unfold.
pear, apple (sour note); honey, cotton candy, sweet.
Tropical fruits (pineapple, banana - rather green/immature), mango. Buttery flavors, slightly farmy, grassy/floral.
Now, after sufficient heating, clearly butterscotch, vanilla, some nutmeg, and again and again buttery aromas mixed with vanilla and pear.

      The 43% are well integrated.
    • Taste
      91 91
Soft and gentle onset, followed by a peppery note.
Gets nice and creamy/oily (leave in the mouth for a long enough time). Coffee and vanilla, marzipan.
Surprisingly, hardly any of the fruit can be seen - but a pleasant peppery note in the mouth.
Apple and pear are there a little later on the palate.
Bananas (green/unripe) and pineapples can also be guessed at.
Second sip: the wood makes itself felt; more vanilla and the mouth becomes drier.
The pepperiness turns into something tingly (very pleasant).
    • Finish
      91 91
Long finish. Tannins - but by no means intrusive - dry out the mouth. Coffee/cocoa remain for a long time with a drying mouthfeel.

Conclusion: I'm really happy to have bought this old gentleman (not exactly cheap, but worth every sip).

Charming and very nice to drink.
    • Nose
Pears, banana, pineapple, with honey and a little grass. More floral as it warms.
    • Taste
Banana and honey again. Summer fruits, coconut, vanilla and a little mint.
    • Finish
Lightly musty sinking into softly spicy as it fades.
