    Although it was the
least complex of the Ardmore 1992 whiskies I have tried of late, it was the best.
    • Nose
      The nose is rather
      tuypical <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Ardmore,
I would say. A full basked of green apples, some mint, a spoonful of soot,
freshly cut grass and a canister of butane gas. After a few minutes, some
grapefruit rears its fruity head. Nice development.
    • Taste
      The attack is very
pleasant, but more aggressive than I anticipated. Very punchy! Mouthcoating. It balances the smoke and fruit perfectly. It is a
battle of grapefruit versus butane gas, just like on the nose. Mild spices like
ginger and pepper are cheering on the sidelines. I like this. A lot.
    • Finish
      The finish is medium
in length on citrus, sweet peat and pepper.

  6. alectron scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
quite mineral & sweet, coal dust, wet tea towell, cotton candy, vanilla fudge w faint rosewater, some herbal notes (ginseng), faint smoke. (89)
    • Taste
oily, mineral, hay, turning a lot sweeter, cotton candy again, dried peaches, faint juicyfruit, some smoke. (88)
    • Finish
sweetness ebbs out, mineral notes remain and an interesting distant bitter-sour note coming through, dried/candied lemon rind, vanilla pods, gaya melon, faint caramel, smoke coming through stronger towards the end but nicely balanced w fruit & sweetness, hessian and a faint herbal note again. (87)

  7. Ivynor scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

Good product, greedy and very appreciable.
    • Nose
A frank nose, evoking the brandy of plum, pear and associated with woody notes.
    • Taste
The entry in the mouth is pleasant, greedy with a fat and sweet tip. It is reminiscent of a sour candy, lemon cream (limoncino?) With a little smoke.
    • Finish
Average length and classic flavors (wood, sugar, herbs).
