I don't know if my bottle was tainted by the cork. I got a very distinct chemical / artificial lavender on the nose/palate and finish which made this undrinkable. I tried to blend it with other things but it tainted them as well so the majority went down the sink!

Little character and far too expensive for what he is.

You should know that these notes were created after a blind tasting.
Conclusion: All in all a malt that appeals to me so much, if I'm honest. The sherry makes me happy, but not the oak. And I miss a bit of bite, especially in the finish. At least that does not suit me in the overall construct. An experience that I always had with different malts of a certain distillery, so I hang on now and say (taking a deep breath, because now it's all about the sausage):
Glenfarclas max. 15 years old with 40%
    Hit or full Horst?
(In the end it was Vollhorst) :-)
    • Nose
Nose: I perceive immediately a clear Sherrynote with a lot of oak and my first thought is: Glenfarclas. Let's see if that is confirmed? I continue to smell. In addition to the sherry and the oak, other fragrances are now spreading. Plums / plum compote pair themselves with an idea citrus. Maybe oranges? Now there is also a floral note that reminds me of lavender. I perceive as good as no alcohol - here we are not dealing with a strong-brother. My nose stays in Speyside, but I start to doubt Glenfarclas. Is that an Aberlour? At least not an ancient drop. I do not smell smoke. After a few minutes in the glass, the alcohol comes through a bit stronger. Now an idea honey and a very slight smell of sulfur. But I stick with it, that we have to do here with a rather low drinking strength. Maximum 40-42%
    • Taste
In the mouth: Hui! Where does the peppery spice come from? I did not smell that at first. It's so nicely prickled in my belly ... no ... on my tongue tip! Interesting! Now the citrus notes come to the fore. The wort has disappeared quickly. Definitely no cask strength and I stick to the assumption 40-42% ABV. I taste less oak than my nose had suspected, but a slightly maritime, so salty note comes through. Even with age, I stick to the fact that we have here rather a younger contemporaries. There's nothing creamy.
    • Finish
The finish: short and painless, almost a bit disappointing. It's flying so fast that I can barely make a memory. Now the oak comes out more clearly and it gets slightly bitter. And then ... puff ... he's gone.
