Whisky reviews for Glenburgie 1984 GM

3 users have left 4 reviews for this whisky. Average rating is 84.86 points.

  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Though it's a tad (too) alcoholic for me, the juicy fruitiness of this Glenburgie is really enjoyable.
    • Nose
Fruitbowl with a lot of citrus fruit; kiwi, pineapple cubes and lime. Orange zest. It's also a litte spirity with notes of aceton. Flowery notes (violets) and some wet grass. Sandal wood at the background.
    • Taste
Lemon juice and lots of peel zest again. Hot and spicy. Acidic and relatively uncomplicated. Ozone. Coconut. Later on some oaky notes. It's all quite creamy.
    • Finish
Medium long. Zesty. Gingery. Little spice of pepper. Liquorice at the end.

    WITH WATER

Little change on the nose and the palate is still stong but the dryness remains which is the only negative for me.

Pretty decent stuff, just a little dry.
    • Nose
This one smells really fruity, but there is another dimension to it , more complex and herbal, something in the background, like most Glenburgie there is pineapple and also some plum in this one.
    • Taste
Potent and also drying with it. The fruit is there that's on the nose but its also what I would call grassy along with the standard Glenburgie creaminess.
    • Finish
      Long and fruity

  5. Malt Hans scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

    Malty

and herbal aroma, wet hay, liqourice, heather honey, lavender, peat,

ripe melon, banana, burnt almonds and coffee beans. Marzipan sweet

taste, lemon pepper, tar, eucalyptus, tannins, orange marmalade, toffee,

vanilla and malt. Medium long, spicy and malty end.
