  1. Squinugie scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Single grain whiskies need lots of time to mature but when they do they can be as complex and rewarding as malt whisky for a fraction of the price. This is a great example.
    • Nose
Immediately demonstrates that complexity on the nose. Honey, caramel, red berry fruits and a whole nut basket with pecan, walnut and hazlenuts.
    • Taste
Very rich. More of the red fruit but also some stewed pears. Citrus but more like limoncello than fresh fruit. After the whisky has sat on my palate for a while I get mocha and dark chocolate mixed with the fruit. It really reminds be of the Lindt fruit sensation sweets. I found this whisky really did not need any water but when added the mocha notes come quicker.
    • Finish
A long finish. Some bitterness but not in a bad way. More of that mocha and the rich oak comes through. When I first left school I worked for a year in a sawmill and the finish brings back the smell of freshly cut hardwood timber. A cracker of a grain and if you bought it when it was first released an absolute bargain.
