    WhiskyWorship!!
In one word: Phenomenal! Out of this world quality. Whisky like this became very rare these days. My mate (Erik1908) and I call ourselves lucky we were able to taste this exceptional malt.
    • Nose
This is complex from the very start. This is such a lively dram! All kinds of sensation variaties of sweet: bittersweet, fresh sweet, dry sweet and fatty sweet. Sensational complexity. To me it gives various tropical fruits like Lychees, golden berries, Thai Long Kong fruits, asian spices, orange peel, tobacco leafs, and an eucalyptus/mint-like freshness. Beautiful scotch mist appears after a while, even without water. How about being barely filtered...beautiful!
    • Taste
On the palate the fun and joy continue. Silky soft, sweet, a wee bit pleasant bitterness, well rounded, oily and thick full bodied. The balance is out of this world. Old cigar boxes, dates, plumbs and forest fruits. It reminds me of autumn forest and also gives rooibos tea like sensations. Age and sophistication are all over the place. Unfortunately it’s hard to find this quality these days, I could get used to this..
    • Finish
What a long sticky finish this is! It goes on and on. Up and down. Giving all kinds of sensations. A lot of red fruits here. Raspberry, blueberry, cherries, apricot, tobacco and tuti frutti with dried plumbs, dates, apricot and raisins. Also it gives autumn forest again and antique wood.

Every step of this dram is a party. Every step in it’s own way but every time it’s giving one or two sensations responsible for making the connection with the previous step. Before tasting this I had a 1968 Bowmore as my most appreciated dram ever. After drinking this one I’m seriously having my doubts. This was at least very close to it, if not at the same level. But maybe, just maybe, I drank my finest dram ever! I’m going to think about that...

Sherry explosion, other than those dried fruits, there is some pronounced coffee, dark chocolate, exotic wood spices. Unbreakable complexity, a roller coaster ride on your nostril.

A weight on the palate. Nice bitterness that balance out the sweetness. Nice oily mouthfeel that only makes things better. Acute sweetness comes on and off. Wild palate experience from start to finish.

Long finishing, on dark fruits, little bit of nuttiness, dark chocolate. Over time, still can taste the fruits.

Tasted during SWWS club annual tasting in September 2021. Well balanced and aged Longmorn, top cask quality. Highly recommended.

Yesterday, we had a very good tasting with this Longmorn in line up. Very complex, without any touch of alcohol in smell and taste. Long finish. Very balanced sherry, delicate.

One of the best whiskies Ive ever tasted. Its almost complete: the nose, the texture, the finish, waxiness, popcorn, grass, powder candies, sticky… fantastic whisky,

    Class!
    • Nose
      Colour:
      Light amber

      Nose:
My first thought is bourbon sweetness. In the form of vanilla, caramel and sweet canned corn. Then a fresh anise note develops.
With a little time in the glass, the bourbon gives way and a slightly dirty note of sherry follows. The sherry looks rather tart. Freshly oiled wood and a dark fruit aroma. Difficult to come apart. Is tightly interwoven. Nut chocolate flashes.
    • Taste
Spicy, powerful start. Then sweet sherry flavors. Candied apple with chocolate icing. With dark berries. The colleague challenges you. Would like to be worked out. Cocoa and mocha. The wood won't get under. Forest honey and some kind of bitter gingerbread.
    • Finish
Long. Woody bitterness and sweet sherry aromas. But which are not really dark. In addition, a slightly tropical mouthfeel.

Some years ago, in the days that the Pot Still festival had more to offer than let's say the Bunna 12y OB, a guy dressed in a kind of paintball outfit offered this dram to me and a friend of mine at the mentioned festival. As we already took a few, I could persuade my friend to pour over this dram in two 3cl sample bottles. Back home each of us left it in a dark sample corner; until last night.

Till date I only tasted a very few Longmorns; none of them disappointed me. And neither did this one. I am sure this is one of the best drams I every tasted.

The nose already indicates that there is something special in the glass. Quality explodes from the glass straight into the nose. Strong, but not overdone. Elegant. A mix of dried tropical fruit and mild spices. Fresh; grassy and citrus notes.
My wife (not a whisky fan), who has a better nose for recognizing flavors, mentioned Tiramisu. I can agree to that.
    • Taste
      92 92
Full body and complex (God I hate that word in relation to writing whisky notes). Mild sherry influences in spite of the first fill sherry cask. Beautiful tropical fruit again with mild spices.

I should add a note about the view in the glass as well: this must be the most cloudy, misty or foggy whisky I ever had in my glass. Scotland all over, captured in one dram.
    • Finish
      93 93
I guess the longest finish ever. Every time you think: now it will disappear, the taste comes back. One big wow feeling. You do not want to brush your teeth that night - that feeling.

Best whisky I ever tasted? Could be this one or the Brora 30y 1st Release. But what the heck. I will never forget December 19th 2020 when it comes to whisky.

http://kaypingers-whiskyblog.de/frontend/fullarticle.php?id=293 Colour: Bernstein copper Nose: Very salty-spicy start. The sherry barrel leaves its mark! Heavy aromas of orange (peel), all sorts of nut variations, fine wet wood, sweet malt, honey, some smoke and old cardboard - the whole involved in an invigorating mint. Taste: Mint, eucalyptus, spicy Chinese grass, peppermint, wrapped in dry woody notes. In addition, there are nuts, caramel, honey and now with voluminöserem wood content and lots of fresh notes. The fruity part is unfortunately more or less completely suppressed. Finish: Long - after the strong woody freshness has subsided, the fruit returns better to the surface. Raspberry and wild berry with wood bark and bright tobacco leaves - a slightly tart aftertaste is still on the tongue! Comment: The taste is already rather oblique (... for our feeling!) 88 points N: 91P / G: 85P / F: 88P

A very solid malt, Top Notch, albeit a little too complex, with water, he looks good on the palette
    • Nose
strong sherry, leather and furniture polish, slightly sour, Brazil nut, damp tobacco, water does not do him so well
    • Taste
first sweet then quickly turn into tart, strong oak and sherry, raspberries and some smoke, with water a little more fruity and sweet, the smoky component comes out of it stronger
    • Finish
long, wonderfully spicy, creamy, heavy sherry and oak flavors, also more fruity with water, after wild strawberries

http://myannoyingopinions.com/2015/05/25/longmorn-1968-2011/This is very good indeed, but, unlike the 1969, feels to me like it may have stayed in the cask a bit longer than it should have—at least till water is added. At any rate, not as intoxicatingly fruity as the 1969 or the 1972 and not as complex on the palate. I think this one definitely needs water to be at its best.

    Tasting Notes by SCOMA:

Aroma: First ripe coconut notes emerge with hints of exotic fruits. Then pineapple, a delicate hint of lime zest and a slight sherry sweetness.

Taste: Outbreak of a spice mix, warming, influenced by some defined tropical fruits. Strong sherry sweetness with a hint of coconut.

    Finish: Long and fruity.
