Whisky reviews for Bowmore 22-year-old

4 users have left 4 reviews for this whisky. Average rating is 88.93 points.

  1. Calmar scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Not a bad, well-balanced whisky, minimalism in its best form, few derivatives, but everything in its place, there is a sense of the wholeness of the product.
    • Nose
Restrained, moist, light smoky-peaty shades, lemon peel, pungent ash-mineral tones, some flowers and tropical fruits; in general, quite minimalistic, but dense and rich.
    • Taste
Light, rich, ash-mineral notes, lemon zest, leather goods, a little bit of tablet bitterness, sweet creamy tones.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, lemon zest, oak, herbal notes.

  3. pere scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Smooth, sweet fruitiness, quite fresh, beeswax, polished wood, blackcurrant leaves, a bit of smoke, grass, milk coffee.
    • Taste
Sweet smoke, linseed, malt, plums, a bit of oak, blackcurrant drops, fresh.
    • Finish
Peat, malt, honey, a bit dry.

Nose. Can you imagine the smell of a stale Pandora's Jar? Very, very sherry, correct, such as only whisky should be, matured in the right sherry Butt. Warm autumn foliage under the sun, time dried berries, which we call dried fruits, but which have not yet dried out and have retained their juices. Diluted to 43 Vol, it has almost lost its smokiness and a little varnish. The phenol is felt on some extremely high blows. Top of the nose. Such delicacy! Silent old bottle. You feel a little melancholy, as if you are again in childhood and again reading Remark. You have just reaped the harvest, and everything is withering under the still-warm sun.
Taste. Sweet. Sweet. A little Polish, a little buckwheat honey, a little Heather sweetness and bitterness, as if you chewed a twig. Aftertaste. Sweet, bright, as if you were eating buckwheat fried in a pan.

  5. QuarterCentury did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

A bottling of 22 year old Bowmore presented in a rather snazzy looking

blue ceramic decanter, adorned with seagulls, and kept safe in a

    matching blue painted wooden box.
