THIEVES have stolen the first ever batch of Shetland whisky - before a single bottle has reached the shops. A consigment of 360 cases of the rare Muckle Flugga were stolen from a depot in Hampshire, where it was waiting to be shipped overseas to VIP shareholders. The robbers cut through the walls of the warehouse in Bordon and stole the batch, with an estimated value of £30,000. The whisky, made by drinks company Blackwood, is a blend of three eight-year-old malts from across the north of Scotland. It is matured on the isle of Unst for 18 months, making it the first ever whisky to be produced on Shetland.
