Whisky Reviews for Strathisla 25-year-old
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 90.91 points
- All other ratings are much higher which makes me wonder if I got a faulty bottle - actually the bottle looked OK and I got it from the very respectable WhiskyAuction.com - don't ask how much I paid
- To be honest I was a bit disappointed by this limited edition for celebration. I would have expected something better to celebrate. The regular 12yo Strathisla at 43% abv with the similar bottle design is much better.
Ripe bananas, pineapples and unfortunately also some cardboardy notes
Little honey and toffee, and again a bit cardboardy, some vegetable notes too, the oak wood comes out later
Medium long, a tad bitter

Essential, tasty, but not over the years powerful, slight disappointment overall ...
- Ambiguous, caustic, mineral-metal molt, well balanced, whole, fairly dense and rich, more classic with chocolate and wood in development.
Restrained, moist, old wood, leather goods, mineral notes, a bit of sulfur tones, boiled vegetables, furniture lacquer, nuts.
Rich, dense, sour-metal, mineral, mineral water, daikon, rhubarb, black pepper, in the development becomes more sweet, with hints of nougat, nuts and chocolate.
Spicy, mineral-metallic, vegetable acidity, sour orange, mineral water, a bit of shades of gray, chocolate.
- Body: gentle and rich.
Potting shed ( earth, clay pots, moss ) hessian, dry tobacco, and dried fruits. Oaky
Tea-like. Light chocolate orange, woodland and woodsmoke. Soft fruits in the centre.
