Finally a good bourbon matured Longmorn. I really liked it.
This my 500th whisky to taste. :)
    • Nose
Caramelized apple, grape, citruses, vanilla, wood cutting board, pineapple
    • Taste
Smooth, creamy: orange peel, raspberry jam, greengage plum, cinnamon and discreet oak
    • Finish
      Long, sweet, fruity and spicy

Bettter for giving it time, pretty good overall.
    • Nose
Toffee apples is the first thing that springs to mind her, ripe plums, fresh ground coffee beans (in the background), caramel wafers and marshmallow.
    • Taste
Hot, a little bitter at first, on bitter orange marmalade its then sweetens up after a couple of sips. There is some cream and wafer in the mix and at the end a blast of raspberry (I think)
    • Finish
      Medium length, getting sweeter

Not my kind of Longmorn I'm afraid.
    • Nose
Fruity, with grapefuit being quite dominant.
    • Taste
GRAPEFRUIT ! ! !  And truckloads of it.  And let that be one of my least favourite kind of fruits.
    • Finish
      Lingering and a bit drying.

    This is certainly not
a bad whisky, far from it, but it does not come close to the Longmorn 1976
that Malts of Scotland bottled last year, cask #MoS13029.
    • Nose
      Very fruit and
‘yellow’ nose, if you get my meaning. Reminds me somewhat of candy, like those
pineapple cubes. But also Doyenné du Comice pears. And then a truckload of
vanilla. You can truly smell the oak here. Planks? In the distance, though. After
a few moments, some oranges join in. Quite pleasant.
    • Taste
      It is very soft and
creamy and utterly spicy on the palate. Reminds me of Oriental spices, I must
say. Something from a Thai restaurant. What?! Yep, I am not making this up
(well, actually I am, but you know what I mean). Then the fruit joins in with
the oranges in the lead, flanked by some yellow plums. Towards the end, it
      becomes somewhat dry on oak.
    • Finish
      The finish is quite
long on the same spices that simply will not budge.

  8. PierreDH scored this whisky 91 points Expert Junior

Tasted at Whisky in the Church 2011 (Den Haag).
    • Nose
Superbly fruity, grenadine and maraschino cherries.
    • Taste
Mouth sweet and fruity. Average intensity.
    • Finish
Spicy finish, slightly pungent. Exotic tip, a little milk chocolate.
