F: refreshing, bread and dried tropical fruits.

  2. Allandale scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

    A light and oily body.
    • Nose
      Dry. Peat, grass, sweet broom.
    • Taste
Light. Still honey and nuts, but oilier.
    • Finish
Oily notes. Soothing. Salty  notes found.

  3. uap304 scored this whisky 84 points Expert Junior

Better when paired with chocolate! Seems a bit one-dimensional and requires a bit of patience.
    • Nose
Sweet, honey, delicate but busy. Raisins and raisin-y bread pudding, with an undercurrent of sherry. Apple juice/apple cider. Fudge.
    • Taste
Thin and watery. Lychee, sweet honey, citrus candy/citrus zest. Anise and peppery. Faint smoke or maybe chocolate?
    • Finish
Quick development and short finish. Soda water and fizzy salt. Not malty. Dying.

  4. Robert Parker scored this whisky 81 points Expert Junior

    • Nose
light and almost no alcoholic notes. You can very intensiv verriechen, fresh green apples, possibly even pears and a light pleasant fresh
    • Taste
quite dry, present pleasant oak, pleasant mouthfeel. Unfortunately, the sweet fruit notes of the nose are no longer so obvious
    • Finish
medium-long, dry, sea-fresh, possibly slightly maritime spices like salt.

  6. erogers scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

A lot of quality for a very reasonable price.  The salty, maritime character shines through, with a variety of tropical fruits, citrus, and nuts.
    • Nose
Salt air, brine (with 2 tsp. water added), fresh hay, clover, coconut, vanilla, ginger, and nutmeg.
    • Taste
Salted Brazil nuts, honey, cut grass, pineapple, banana, coconut, buttered wheat toast.
    • Finish
Short finish, salted nuts, lemon, and crisp apple.

Balance is great, but over all seems slightly weak. ( 23/25).

This bottle is a lot better after being open for an extended length of time. But then again it is Old Pulteney 12, possibly one of the best value propositions in Single Malt Scotch there is.
    • Nose
Subtle maritime notes, sea salt, seaweed, but also some very nice fruit notes, mostly mango, and a touch of pear. I also like the nice touch of honey with wild flower influence. ( 20/25)
    • Taste
Very easy drinking and smooth.  Honey and Mango\'s with a pinch of salt.  A very simple but incredibly effective palate. ( 23/25)
    • Finish
Lingering sweetness and the honey mango\'s and salt continues, oddly long lasting for its proof.  ( 22/25)
