Unusual malt and also the distillery. Exciting to try but very strange.
    • Nose
Very light smoke, smells a bit salty, and some gum. As if one in a diving suit rises from the sea. The alcohol is not available.
    • Taste
Dark, a bit bitter the alcohol is still coming. Maybe a touch of sherry. If he stays longer in the mouth, he gets a little oily. With a little water, it becomes gummy in the nose. In the mouth he watered something, the alcohol disappears totally.
    • Finish
In the finish he is fresh for a short time with citrus flavors. Then some wood and a little bitter. He stays in the mouth for a few minutes

This rare malt has never been bottled by the owner and is produced by the Loch Lomond Distillery using heavily spiked malt. This example was taken from a refilled Hogshead and is yellow-golden with greenish highlights. The first scent is reminiscent of fondant (the only one that does not taste like licorice in a licorice mix) with an insect bath for sheep in the background. When the nose gets used to tingling, a dry rubber hose appears. The taste is sweet with a good load of peat. Water brings out the smoke further and reveals a warm rubber compound of neoprene (diving suit) and squeaky tires (Formula 1 race track). The taste is low and slightly mouth-cooling, sweetish and sour, with a smoky finish. Very interesting.
