Quite a winter dram, spicy, red fruits, and dark chocolate all along the way. The only complain I’ve had, which probably is not an issue for many, is the tannin finish which creates a mouthfeel that I don’t usually indulge.
Red fruits. Toasted oriental spices, fairly peppery. Saffron. Honey. Dark chocolate with dried red berries. French toast. Roasted malt. A whiff of Kahlua & Baileys, anyone thinking a B52 with whisky?
Hot and dry, albeit very estery. Landing with a burst of oak tannin and toasted spices. Cinnamon, cloves, nutmegs. Melted dark chocolate. Red, overripe red fruits: plums, grapes, raspberries, prunes, figs. Toasted oak.
Long, slightly bitter finish. Quite a lot of wine & oak tannin lingering with toasted malt & dusty cocoa. A touch leathery towards the end.
