Whisky Reviews for Balvenie 21-year-old
17 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.26 points
- A rich body.
Perfumy, fruity. Passion fruit. Raisiny. Nutty dryness. Marzipan.
Very complex. Toffee,creamy, winey, aniseed.
Long, cedar and dry.
- On the nose, sweet spices, fruits (orange-apricot), then wood, a chocolate side!
On the palate, it's rather simple, quite bland considering the years spent in cask, with wood, and a sensation of butter.
In the final, here too disappointment with very (too) few aromas, too little relief, pastry sensation fleeting.
A dram that disappointed me, little depth and reduced final (stale sample?)
- A bit disappointing for a whisky in this price segment. It's an elegant whisky but lacks a bit depth for me. The port finish is not my cup of tea, makes it a bit sickly.
- one of mine all time favorits
peperig, rood fruit dik
port, citrus fruit
- Color: deep, reddish glow
Smell: rich, fruity with a hint of port and very spicy!
Taste: exceptional port, very rich!
Bearing: 21 years aged in traditional barrels, then 30-year-old Port barrels for a period of 4 to 6 months.
