    Serge says:

    Inverleven 1991/2010 (40%, Gordon & MacPhail)
There were many vintages in this relatively light series but as 1991
was the last vintage at Inverleven, I guess it’ll soon come to an end.
Colour: straw. Nose: very light and pretty much on pears and barley,
with a little bubblegum in the background, then more watermelon and
maybe strawberry sweets (Haribo’s Tagada?) Mouth: again, very light,
sweet, almost a little sugary, with the same kinds of fruits. It’s
pleasant enough and I guess it’ll take a few ice cubes with gusto.
Becomes maltier after that, a tad tea-ish and rather drier. Finish:
shortish but pleasantly waxy. More oak in the aftertaste. Comments: I
think it’s rather nicer than earlier vintages and after all, it’s become
    a slice of whisky history! SGP:431 - 78 points.

Well, discover A pretty. Thanks to Julien for the surprise sample.
    • Nose
A nose quite intense and complex, well integrated and more. Dominant flowering plant embellished with cereal scents, fruity (pears) and spicy (sweet). The whole is coated with a beautiful wax mixed with varnish.
    • Taste
The mouth starts delicately, almost with shyness and then takes off with strength relying on a robust body with suave texture (surprising given the low abv). Wax and a proliferation of notes that prolong the nose: vegetal, floral, fruity, spicy. A hint of bitterness but it's still nice.
    • Finish
Long enough not to be frustrating, round and warm. No surprise here, just a slow declination of the mouth with a more pronounced woody bitterness.

Rather picked up. Pretty good, nothing more. Can not act as a starter in a tasting.
    • Nose
A little too much alcohol, aeration 10 min needed. A lot of punch for 40%, on the floral and the apple.
    • Taste
Powerful but rather linear. Very floral overall, dry attack and austere with light woody. Ginger (= spicy orange).
    • Finish
Well in view of the dilution. Buttered side, slightly peppery. Apple ?

The nose is fruity and fresh. Citrus and vanilla fudge and grassy barley sweetness in the mouth. A long finish, warm, sweet and even a drying spicy.
