This distillery was built in 1824 under the name Tochineal, then rebuilt in 1871 and renamed. After 23 long years in a refilled Hogshead, this malt has acquired an intense gold color. A buttery first nose impression with caramac (caramel bar), condensed milk (from small cows?), Lemon wax candles and sea salt and chips with vinegar. The taste is a bit spicy at first, before grab grapefruit, orange marmalade, toast and cereal (breakfast!). With water, not much changes - more of the same theme with a light soap additive in the fragrance and towards the end something slightly dry in the taste. A dram that covers everything.
