    N- Sweet malt, soft spirit of sour berries and coffee at the tail. Pleasant. P- Slightly closed and hollow. Sweet and sour pickled ginger. Minimum
    present of peat, leaning more towards toasted wood, cigar box and
    tabacco.

    F- Medium length, stiff with layers of spicy nutmeg. Flatting out.
    — at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.

      Sweet, malty, fruity (peaches), honey, seaweed, smoky
    • Taste
      Sweet, oily, creamy, nutty, tobacco

      Medium long, chocolate, vanilla, pepper

    An appetizing dram like a dried fruit cake. Rich and malty. A drop of water will be enough to cheer it up. More knocks it down. 
    • Nose
      Malty. Wholemeal bread dough. A balsamic fragrance;Eucalyptus, thyme essence. Then a citrus note. Lime. Exotic fruit. Guava. 
    • Taste
      Smooth,velvety. A good sweet maltiness with a fudgynote. A salty feel.Roasted hazelnuts.
    • Finish
      Dry,concentrated.Nutty.

    A cool classic I can. It does not surprise or delight, but my taste buds will not disappoint.
    Glen Garioch has been reminded of me in style. I brought a small sample from the Whisky Festival 2014.
    • Nose
      Classic honey-malt style with wood enriched with marzipan, sherry and polish. (84 b)
    • Taste
      On the tongue, a slightly oily impression, a honey-like flavor, a toasty flavor. (84 b)

    Transferring previous Note (2011.12.06) content into a Tasting Note.
    • Nose
      winey, a recently extinguished candle  (a bit waxern & smokey), some cardboard in the back, red apples, (84)
    • Taste
      oily, malty & earthy, with some cooked fruits (83)
    • Finish
      a nice length & complexity. smokey, pleasant cardboard/mineral,
      turns a lot sweeter towards the end but keeping a sour/dry edge,
      (artificial) strawberry & plum jam with a peat birck briefly dipped
      into it, even later also with a touch of chocolate, also barley & a
      bit of wet hay at the end, (86)

    A rather attractive Oban, with a great palate in which
    sweet and salty battle for supremacy. You can still find this one for around 60
    EUR. Thanks, Ruben.
    • Nose
      The nose is pretty hearty, actually. Apart from loads
      of fruits, clearly from the sherry cask because it offers strawberries, dried
      peach, honey and juicy plums, I also get some maritime notes. Pistachio nuts
      and burnt barley. Milk chocolate with hazelnuts. A little waxy with a touch of
      smoke. This is very nice.
    • Taste
      It is quite oily and spicy (think nutmeg), but mostly
      sweet. Full flavours of nuts and chocolate, some tobacco and stewed fruits.
      Mildly drying with a hefty helping of peat.
    • Finish
      In the long, warm finish, that drying continuous and
      allows the peat the final spotlight.

    Really nice in the nose, sweet malt, fruity and unmistakably the sea. Spicy tobacco with dark chocolate and heavy malt on the tongue. Remains long spicy and oily on the palate. I feel like I`m standing on the pier and watch the bay from Oban.
