- Another stunning dram from Japan.
A lovely old nose. The softness of a grain, but the subtlety of an extraordinary cask. Butter tablet melting in a pan with a sprinkling of cinnamon and cocoa. Lovely fruit notes emerge.
The tablet theme continues, but the fruit notes flutter through it and make the most exquisite sensations on the palate.
Not the longest thing ever, but my mind is well and truly blown.
Heavy on the Glue, Velpon comes to mind. But also loads of wood. Could be intriguing.
Body: The Glue continues, and is not what I hoped. It dominates the pallet. A bit of water makes it all unbalanced, so avoid that.
Finish: More Glue, hints of wood, finally some hints of grain and fruitier things.
Not recommended. The price of 11.000 yen is quite reasonable for a bottle of this vintage. Too bad it`s not worth it in the taste, for me at least.
