Whisky Reviews for Springbank 13-year-old
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 91.00 points
- Big sherry bomb, oily and concentrated, but just as good as the distillery character.
Big sherry, orange peel, waxy fruits, rum raisin and citruses.
Powerful and oily. Matured oak, big sherry, earth, salted minerals, pepper, citruses and dried fruits.
Long, oaky, fruity.
- Washed Rock Oysters from the Breaking Sea!
- Shame that this is a SC and gone forever. What a wonderful Sherry Springbank- deep Sherry notes, earthy, lightly salty, a wiff of smoke- works well without water. Far better than the regular 17Y Sherry Springbank. 91 Points, great stuff
In the nose wood with very delicate fruitiness (orange zest), nut, vanilla, panettone-type-Mehlspeistoene, ends rather dry, the initial fruit is totally gone.
On the palate, woody, delicate smoky notes, a hint of salt, explodes as usual with Springbanks. The wood is supported by beautiful sherry notes that almost go into the wine notes as the Arran BF.
The finish is woody, dry, accompanied by a delicate iodine-salt note, relatively long, especially the Holztoene
