Whisky Reviews for Scapa 16-year-old

- Part of a scapa tasting that included 9 scapas... yes we managed to find 9. This one was the weakest to me; although it’s nothing bad. It has good flavours, they are all just weakly delivered. Probably a good introductory malt.
Pear, white pepper, brine, wool
Pretty nice mouthfeel on soft wax, soft pepper, heather, a little salt
Salty, lemon zest, cold ash, pear.
Delicate, solid, initially closed, gradually opening up. Floral motifs, malt, rain freshness, light fragrance, cotton candy, dried condensed milk, vanilla, freshly sawn board, wet cardboard, ascorbic acid, dry grass, barely noticeable mineral notes, sweet pastries. 23
Medium, moderately sweet. Oak tannins, black pepper, mineral water, pastry dough, fresh fruit - red apples, apricot, barely noticeable sulfur content, sugar syrup, crumb of gray bread, a little salt. Toward the end of the dram from somewhere there is a very light smoke. 22
Short, smoothly fading, tannin, mineral. nineteen
Very interesting nose, pleasant taste and almost disappointing finish. At the same time whisky is very light and drinkable. Balance - 22.
- The Scapa 16 years - a good Orcadian Malt; with 40% maybe a little weak on the chest!
light, mild, sweet (honey), fruity (apples), malt;
first fruity (apples, pears), then spicy (pepper, ginger, oak), oily, creamy, slightly dry;
a long, oily finish, in the aftermath salty note;
