Whisky Reviews for Longmorn 1968 Sc
4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 90.81 points
- Straight forward fruitiness
Waves of mint leaves, pine needles and waxes. Quite oily, herbal, spicy and sweet from the nose. Not as fruity (tropical) as expected, still aromatic, big and classic. Some underlining pears, melons.
Oily and sweet, more conventional sweetness, quite salty, sticky caramel, some light melon tastes, yeast, barley sugar, a touch of metal tastes.
Medium, huge chocolate spices, cookies, cereal, corn flakes.
- Tasted at old and rare 2020. Yellow fruits varnish candied orange toffee, nuts, opens up with water a rather austere longmorn.
- At cask strength too strong. Overall a nice fresh fruit salad.
Though it is 35 years old there is a lot of freshness.
Good bottling - easy to drink.
yellow fruits, acetone, glue unreduced. Icing sugar
Water brings out more fruit flavours, pineapple, pear, quince jelly
a bit horse stable flavours, a bit sweat
pineapple with resinous notes, fresh, icing sugar, vanilla
clean fruity with lemons, refreshing
