    A true forest adventure week with complex rye notes that have many different facets. It's sweet, tasty and really good.
    • Nose
      An enormous variety of rye bread/baked goods and beer, sourdough, a rustic woodiness forms the foundation, very spicy, subtle vanilla, brown cane sugar, notes of rum, roses, figs, raisins, sour cherries, ''Mon-Chéri '', mountain pine
    • Taste
      Dark forest honey on whole grain rye bun, resin, penetrating sweetness of brown cane sugar, walnut, cedar wood, there is a pulsating rye spice throughout
    • Finish
      Rather long, molasses, light liquorice, cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa

    The Foz noted – of the Nobiliary – that it falls between rum and bourbon. I duly pour a seldom-visited Lot 40, blind, to test the hypothesis.

    C: We are surprised how rich, vibrant and layered/interesting this is. Now I’m very tempted to buy a bottle to find out more.

      The initial nose is crazy! Glue, fresh fruit, abundant esters evoking some high-end rums, then vanilla, and quietly we return to something more simple and typical of a rye with this slightly woody side, mint .. The volume of aromas is quite low in the end, it's a shame!
    • Taste
      Fresh (with mint), sweet spices. Sticky and delicate.
    • Finish
      Beautiful development on the flowers. What elegance !

    Here I have the gummy bears right in the nose, to dill and mint and something surprising dirty, like charred plastic or machine smell, not unpleasant. Some cereal in the background, but the dill note stands out. Dill in the mouth, oak, vanilla and pepper. The finish is pleasant, sweet, spicy, caramel, not overstraining ... and with the aftertaste of a jumbo jelly gummy with oak. He is quite easy drinking with a surprisingly strong dill note. Like also good and is definitely recommendable, as well as relatively cheap!

    A singular show where the scents are well defined, and quite special in fact,

      fresh, floral, spice,

      again the freshness and a typicity of the cereal drier, rougher, but also stronger!
      the spices get intense back in the back of the mouth!

      short, can be too dry, too spicy and too short indeed

    very nice surprise this NAS!
    • Nose
      The nose is clearly on the rye, which is normal for a 100% rye, and very marked by aging in new oak barrels, so we smell the vanilla and the burnt, characteristics, and spices
    • Taste
      quite sweet on the palate, spices, pepper and cloves, vanilla in the background.
    • Finish
      medium, sweet finish on spices and rye

    This was a sample courtesy of Lincolnimp. Nice enough but nothing special.

      Banana cake, golden delicious apples, wafer in vanilla Ice cream. Struggling to find anything else really, a bit thin on the nose.
    • Taste
      A very light and fruity whiskey, or what we would call on the base a summer dram. Smooth and sweet with short bread biscuit. As linc says a nice sipping whiskey.
    • Finish
      The finish is short to medium with the short bread biscuit dipped in tea.

    The nose is very delicate, the palate is sweet but its a bit lightweight but perhaps a good session dram?

    Probably. the most unique Rye in a positive way so far, very strange, but yummy, on Rye you have to stand for it anyway.

      What is going on here? A Rye that smells like a "mountain fresh" room fragrance, just fresh, mint, vanilla, violets, other flowers, ice candy, blue water ice, far behind lurks just a bit the classic bakery, flour, some rye and sourdough
    • Taste
      So they have somehow accidentally mixed in a refreshing tea. Mint, green tea, lots of flowers that are refreshingly perfumed, then comes through the rye spice, some nutmeg and rustic bread, but the other notes are very pleasant and surprising at the same time
    • Finish
      Short to medium, some sourdough, rye and florality also stay behind

    Another rye whiskey that I like.
    • Nose
      Floral and perfumed. Massively redolent of rye.
    • Taste
      The perfumed character remains. One of the most floral whiskies I've
      ever drunk. Plenty of rye spice, but it's balanced by something calming.
    • Finish
      Now the spice really comes through. Dry. Like drinking pot pouri.
