A bit too much of modern malt lately, lets have something more profound - the much criticize floral Bowmore from the 80s era.

N- Indeed, potpourri of wild flower and lavender at first, but whats following at the end of the garden are absolutely eye-watering. Punches of sesame oiled Jellyfish, toffee, prunes, vanilla custard, highly breezy and light without losing the solidness. Damped wall with mosses, kelp, fresh dug peat, rooty and muddy, mashed vegetation, branches and ginger, umami fat juicy oyster. Sweeter notes of warm chocolate fondue, soft smokes with whiff of spent cigar match. (96/24)

P- Sour citrus ginger lay on the back, with umami oyster, shells come first, then hawthorn cookies and cocoa smokes. Superbly layer with coastal air dried ham + ripe cantaloupe. (95/23)

F- Long, ripe rock fruits with exotic fragrances and solid. Chewy dry and waxy. Already very good, but can't help on expecting more. (92/23)

B/B- 96/24. Not too Bowmore initially, but build up beautifully to bold coastal nuances.

    Cereal- 1, Fruity- 4, Floral- 4, Peaty- 1, Feinty- 2, Sulphury- 1, Woody- 3, Winery- 3, Spicy- 2

    Weighted Rate- 93pt

So difficult to assess when you have only a half a tablespoon sample! The nose is more complex than the palate, overwhelmed by parma violet.
    • Nose
Floral, very perfumy. Freesia, carnation. A hint of geranium. Green pepper. Blancmange. New calfskin. Barley sugar. Quite complex and multilayered. Very enticing.
    • Taste
Silky, gently flowing. Parma violet. Salty.
    • Finish
      Lingering, nutty. Smoked almonds.
