Whisky Reviews for Auld Blended 38-year-old DT

4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.14 points

  1. hs305 scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

[January, 2017]  I bought this bottle for 78 Euro in August, 2006.  Good old stuff... The nose is fantastic with lots of different fruits, honey driven sweetness and hints of sherry (not too many sherry casks were used for this blend).  You can sniff this for hours and still detect something new.  On the palate this multi-dimensional experience continues, but then the wood takes its toll.  You feel the age of all these whiskies literally when chewing this dram.  The wood is not too heavy, but a little less would be better.  As expected it dries out in the finish...

    But the nose is magnificent!

    [December, 2006]  I had this dram during a FoSM club tasting.  I bought this bottle for 76 Euro in August, 2006.In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 87,5.  Please see detailed review below.

  3. QuarterCentury scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Matured since the 1960`s, skillfully blended during the early 1980`s and
married together for nearly 20 years in sherry butts at an Islay

Collection of single casks laid down during the 1960`s.

Consists of the following old casks: Bunnahabhain, Highland Park, Glenburgie, Miltonduff, Glenlivet, Springbank single malts, plus Invergordon Grain
