n:  strong, heavy sherry nose with loads of dried fruit, especially prunes and
very spicy with nutmeg, allspice and a little cinnamon.
slightly sour, aroma of earth and fallen leaves, hint s of linseed oil.
         very good so far
t:   oily, a tad sour and there is a slightly perfumy, soapy note that I don´t like at all.
         old ladies handbags.
perhaps the sample was open for too long.
other than that it´s quite swee, almost sticky and a little sappy. much on prunes.
f:   long, still a bit sour
comments: not my cup of tea, even if the soapiness wasn´t there it would be
                       too sweet for my taste
85/100( forgetting about the soapy notes that might result from oxydation)

woody/bitterness seems to increase quite a bit over time, first of
fairly sweet, but after a while, all there is seems to be wood. Although
this one seems to be rather flakey and very changeable depending on the
whisky had before... scored it very different in 2 blind tastings,
however, the woodyness bothered me on both.

Transferring previous Note (2011.12.29) content into a Tasting Note.
    • Nose
less upfront nose than 92 & 94 from batch 4. fruity & a tad sour
(grapes), earthy, some herbs, old handbag leather, demerara sugar,
somewhat meaty & musty as well, (85)
Later: seems to develop quite a few woody notes and sweet and savoury notes broaden, some ripe banana, more leather, (87)
    • Taste
sherry/red wine, demerara sugar, candied strawberries, hints of malt,
honey first of, then a quick turn and a lot of woodyness hits with a
touch of bitter- & sourness as well (76)
    • Finish
bitter/dry woodyness increases, tongue turns pelt-y, some dried (sour)
plums inbetween and some sour raspberries. Oak liquor spiked with a few
fruits. Good but too much wood for me. (79)

  8. Malt Hans scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Woody and spicy aroma, pepper, cloves, nutmeg, dark chocolate, mint, coffee, prunes, orange peel, peat, wet hay and vanilla. Medium sweet taste, ginger, eucalyptus, cinnamon, apple peel, red grapefruit marmalade, woody tannins, vanilla and peat. Long, spicy and herbal end.
