Whisky Reviews for Glenmorangie Madeira Wood Finish
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.39 points
- A very good and old-school whisky - you can feel the quality cask used for double-maturation.
Furthermore, I didn't even get the Bourbon-Barrel - tremendous amount of intensity from the Madeira.
Classic and elegant.
- This Glenmorangie is very pleasant!
Not very complex, but gives you a good feeling.
I specially like the sweet - tart play and the kind of (slightly bitter) wood.
The finish is great!
Tasting with FineSpirits_butler1.
Chocolate, cherry jam, some plums, some pleasant sweetness, the feeling of the Madeira, tart citrus peels, maybe a little sour apple, sometimes herring in oil, melted butter; late caramel appears - mixed with some bullion cube - very satisfying, in the background oak and hints of tropical fruits ...
cherry & plums again, citrus, honey, the citrus and maybe a little apricot, caramel, dark chocolate - cocoa, later some espresso powder, a little spice in very nice wood, conifer forest; can become quite fiery!
a long, spicy and warm finish! Plums and other fruits - also citrus, much wood, dark chocolate and cocoa powder, sweet and tart, some salt and butter and mint, very good.
Sweet and sticky aromas, with hints of fresh, tangy citrus, dates and plums,
stewed fruits, apple sauce and pepper
Butterscotch, manuka honey, malt and fruit gums, apple juice, caramel, salted butter and chocolate
Long and spiced, creamy and very fruity
