Nose: The nose is like sinking into a soft sofa, extremely clean and soft. At this moment, you are surrounded by white floral fragrance, lemon juice, fresh pineapple juice, waxy texture and a little bit of smoke floating in the sky. After the top notes are sweet malt, cream cakes, egg rolls, sweet and sour and clear juice, lemonade is mixed with sugar cane water, and the aroma of rouge gouache of old wine is behind it.

Drink: The wine is light and easy to drink, without any irritation, and does not give much signal to the taste buds. The main note is still juice, rouge gouache, dried ginger and oak, and the final finish is smoky.

Overall: 60 years have passed since bottling, and the aging effect of more than half a century cannot be ignored. The sense of alcohol has almost disappeared, and the fusion and balance of flavors are also very good, but it can still be recognized that this is a bottle of glenmorangie work, I think the glenmorangie increased from two distillers to eight distillers is still Maintain a consistent style to a large extent.

Tasted for the second time, this time two points better. No tasting notes created the first time. However, especially with malts from this era, individual batches are sometimes very different. This was outstanding.

It has very little old bottle flavor, surprisingly not sprittig for a Glenmorangie, although very strong for its 40%. Qualitatively very far from today's standards. Blindly not recognizable as Glenmorangie.

    Notes from a blind tasting.
    • Nose
      89 89
Very dense, yellow fruit and dunnage. slightly green, very fresh, later custard and lemon. Warms something mineral.
    • Taste
      88 88
Sweet, creamy, little fruit. Honey, especially white pepper to the rear.
    • Finish
      88 88
Long and sweet, honey and white pepper go harmoniously.

    • Nose
Wonderfully aromatic, complex and fragrant. Many bright overripe fruits, especially maga, pineapple, banana and then also spicy woods like cinnamon and sandalwood, followed by vanilla and tonka bean. Later also cedar, lemon, white currant, gooseberry, salt and a hint of peat. Becomes more nutty but also floral with notes of sage, buttercups and aromatic hay. Top!
    • Taste
Complex and fine spicy. Overripe fruits, salt, some more smoke, metallic accents, cedar wood, tobacco, nuts, oily accents, apple peel, wet newspaper, soil and a hint of peat.
    • Finish
Very long, complex, spicy with citrus zest, metallic accents and soft smoke.

    http://kaypingers-whiskyblog.de/frontend/fullarticle.php?id=257 Color: corn yellow
Nose: honey, caramel, straw, smoky malt. In addition, slightly watered lemon and old cardboard box - that's it.
Taste: Soft-round-thin, delicately perfumed and with little spiciness. Again watered, slightly woody fruit notes. Tart herbs and vanilla with soapcake lengths.
Finish: Rather short - when the slightly unsightly notes fade away, sweet honey and sweetened fruit notes are left behind. Lined with leather and thread tea aromas.
    83 points (nose: 84 / taste: 80 / finish: 84)

This is the oldest 10 year I have had and I was expecting more, I think the newer 10 year is better than this original.

Still a pleasant easy drinking malt.
    • Nose
Honey with very hint menthol, pear and restrained lemon with a few cleaning fluid notes but its ok.
    • Taste
`It is a little thin` was my first impression  but then it seemed to firm up on the palate. There is some lemon drizzle cake in there and hints of honey and vanilla and at the back of the palate just a little apple bitterness.
    • Finish
      Quite short and fading

  7. MaltyMillionaire scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

Slightly different than the current Original, and a slight step up as well.
    • Nose
Honey, spice, wood, citrus, and lemon spray.
    • Taste
Smooth and oily. Runny honey, muted citrus, and spice.
    • Finish
Smooth and warming, with a reading sweetness, sourness, and spice.
