  1. Boletus did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

An exciting and quite tasty blend with a rather characterful profile. The strange side with its butyric acid aroma and the sulphurous distillate components shouldn't be more pronounced for my taste, but it is enriching in a way and increases the complexity. All in all, an interesting and good representative of a long-gone era.
    • Nose
With a slightly fermented undertone, there is a clear note of concentrated grape must, wrinkled apple skins and dried sultanas, a little caramel, little malt and almost no oak, at the beginning there is hardly any vanilla, this becomes clearer with air access, dried dusty grain, lightly perfumed with a floral Side, reminiscent of rose water, but there is also a strange, subtle odor of mine gas, sauerkraut, the sweetish-fermented scent of corn silage drifts by in the background, a tiny drop of butyric acid, but these aromas sound more drastic than they really are, instead there is only one another interesting layer behind the superficially lovely scent uncovered
    • Taste
Very soft with a good load of honey, mealy apples and sultanas, caramel flows into the concentrated grape must, rose water provides a perfume accent, now it starts to tingle a bit and the tiny drop of butyric acid reappears, is a bit borderline, but not yet disgusting, now there is also some malt and milk chocolate, ''Ovomaltine Crunchy Cream'', the oak remains just a quiet extra, a somewhat dirty side can be seen in secret, old machine oil and a tiny hint of odorant, somehow also a little fleshy
    • Finish
Rather short and quite light, a short perfumed moment, then the oak with a little vanilla shows up, but the wood is still very harmless and free of any bitterness, roasted sunflower seeds, a bit of honey and sultana sweetness and malt remain available a little longer
