Whisky Reviews for Teaninich 1982 LS

5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.05 points

  1. Dre73 scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

This one clearly needs some time to open up to its fullest. Then the nose gets really better, and also the taste gets fuller.
    • Nose
      88 88
Fruity, but also some (fruit)tea like scent. A whiff of licorice, and even a little of sweet smoke. Caramel, a bit grassy, later on alcohol steps to the front.
    • Taste
      88 88
A little pepper, surprisingly smooth, with still a full taste. Fruity, orange, honey, some vanilla, peach.
    • Finish
      87 87
Still some pepper, sweet, orange, peach, some honey, middle long finish.

    • Taste
Sweet, fruity, honey, spicy (cloves, pepper), oaky, vanilla, tea
    • Finish
      Medium long, spicy, dry, oaky

Good, no doubt about it, but I
have had better Teaninich. But I have also had worse, so…
    • Nose
      The nose offers creamy farmer’s
butter, vanilla and almonds, but also walnuts. A touch of mint and something
like green tea. Quite floral, actually. A whole bouquet of wild flowers,
including roses. A slice of lime. Interesting, but not really grand.
    • Taste
It is creamy on the palate. Good
body. But the wood is loud. Vanilla and tannins demand your attention, while
the fruit – which I would describe as apples mostly – barely has a chance to
manifest itself. Drop of cough syrup. Again the walnuts. Freshly cut grass.
      Quaffable without water.
    • Finish
The finish is fairly long on
      apples, lime and wood.
