Whisky Reviews for Macallan 1970

- Nose is full of sherry, fruits, treacle toffee, oak and honey. The palate is fully bodied, dried fruits balanced with orange citrus and cloves. Quite punchy. There is a very long finish with a considerable sweetness. Lingering and mouth coating. This is probably one of the best Macallan. Fantastic!
- I love this malt, so powerful, so intense, but at the same time smooth and excellent in after taste.
Nose: very complex, lots of red tangerines, prunes, tropical fruits, some dried dates, very classy old Macallan
Taste: oak, spices, dark fruits, lemon zest, mouth-watering, then turns to coffee and dark chocolates, followed by oranges again.
Finish: very long, cherry with dates, black pepper in orange jam, nice oak, some nuts and butter chocolates. Great!
- Bottled at 32 years old.
Dark claret colour.
Oaky aroma, but Macallan spiciness and apple esters come through.
Chewy, malty, sweet, rum-butter flavours.
The finish is peppery and very long, with some woody astringency.
