Whisky Reviews for Glenlossie 1975 TWA

Really an excellent whisky. Everything is there.
    • Nose
Fresh and sweet at the same time. The freshness gradually fades to give way to a nice fruity orange marmalade and a little candied lemon. Very slightly grassy and alive. Limoncello. Citrus fruits are more and more present, especially orange and clementines. Very pleasant.
    • Taste
Sweet. Frank attack on pollen, wax and propolis. The fruits arrive then: clementines, orange zest and also a little bit of exoticism
    • Finish
Very long. The wood finally shows the tip of his nose and brings a little pep. Spices, mint and fruits.

A vanilla greenery, a note of confectionery (nougatine, sugared or pastry) and a spicy and peppery side make a very nice nose not at all alcoholic. Greasy texture, sweet attack and vanilla, the mouth is powerful, oak present but well integrated. Long finish on greenery, vanilla, chili and woody. Good dram.

Repasse: I was next, but there is a honey / waxy look really nice. I found less bitterness in the finish. So I confirm, avoid adding water, it is really top as is.

A beautiful speysider robust and delicate at a time.
    • Nose
Fresh herbaceous first impression followed by a fruity note supported. An impression of vanilla sugar / confectionery. Sawdust, dust, wood. Wet cardboard. A beautiful floral facet, very fragrant. Vanilla is growing. A hint of vegetal moss, a little menthol / cocoa kick (after eight). Orangettes. A little trace of smoke or hay instead. With water, vanilla is more marked, as is the woody. I would advise not to put some.
    • Taste
The mouth follows the nose. I am impressed by the breadth and length of this whisky. Despite the high degree of alcohol, the sensation in the mouth is racy certainly, but flexible. A balance is established between the woody bitterness and the fruitiness / vanilla / cereals. A small slightly spicy citric wave appears next.
    • Finish
Long. Malty and lemony with vanilla always present. A bitterness settles for a long time then without being unpleasant.
