Nose: Oaky with sweet vanilla, brown sugar, and molasses but green pepper and fennel notes suggest an herbaceousness with brown baking spices ranging from warm cinnamon to sweet and spicy Red Hots
Palate: Unctuous (some might say creamy) mouthfeel with sugar cookies fresh from the oven, toasted almonds, chocolate covered cherries, and Panda brand licorice as it transitions towards the finish
Finish: Long and lasting with lingering licorice, maple syrup, and drying oak
Overall: Pleasing oak and sweet vanilla straight out the gate but there’s also a lovely fennel-like note hovering around the background of the nose with an accompanying herbaceousness on the palate. Abundant maple-like qualities throughout the whole experience and lingering licorice in the finish.
