6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.94 points

  1. Alex scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

For sure has its own style, the spirit is neither masked nor wood-driven. One to enjoy and good value for your money.
    • Nose
Grassy, malty and sweet yellow fruits
    • Taste
Waxed yellow fruits and a lot of honey. Sweet malty notes and white pepper. Little brine.
    • Finish
Good length, again these yellow fruits and more white pepper. Not much of oak.

Full of flavour. Full of interest. A good, complex bottling.
    • Nose
      Sweet grass. Lightly peppery/mustardy.
    • Taste
Creamy maltiness. Big flavours. Peaty. Seaweedy-fruity.
    • Finish
A fresh, mustardy attack. Some salt, too.

"A well-rounded, classy single malt with a full gold colour suggesting a significant contribution from the wood. Light candle wax, with some sugar on the nose. A faint floral fragrance. Wax comes up with water - scented candle wax. Dried flowers on a beach. Later, brown sugar. Firm, light to medium bodied. Pleasant mouth feel, not as waxy as some expressions; maritime generally. Some salt in the aftertaste; dryish, even slightly bitter finish." - Malts.com

Clynelish 14 Year Old is a complex, clean malt that merges maritime characteristics with bright fruit. On the nose, the peat influence asserts itself after hints of honey, earth, and fresh herbs. The palate is smoky, fruity, and pleasantly vegetal with a finish of mocha and brine.
