Fresh sherry. The typical aromas you expect from sherry appear immediately. Sticky honey sweetness, dried fruits, figs, dates, sweet strawberries, in the background something fresh like green apples, gooseberries, a bit of vanilla. Everything is complemented by a light spiciness of oak and leather aromas
    • Taste
      88 88
Strawberry jam, very sweet and creamy, lemon cake, toffee, oak spice, dark fruits, currants and blueberries, chocolate with nuts
    • Finish
      88 88
Medium, oak spiciness, pepper, a hint of leather, red fruit

A good and tasty bottling, water helps on the palate.
    • Nose

Modern sherry nose, wild strawberries, light sultanas, cinnamon, noticeably spicy wood. A little bit acidic towards gooseberry. Alcohol well integrated.
    • Taste
      84 84
A decent start, much more barrel-heavy than the nose, immediately nuts, oak, cocoa and a good load of spices. The fruits are there, but remain in the background for the time being. Bitter substances are present, but to a tolerable degree.
A few drops of water give more balance as they snare the barrel-heavy crit a bit.
    • Finish
      84 84
The barrel withdraws again and gives the fruit more room, currant with spices. Pleasant, but the intensity of the finish could be a bit higher.

wow, much better than i remembered it trying directly in Campbeltown

    powerful yet smooth experience.

    treacle, fudge, cinnamon

sweeter sherry compared to the 15y release from last year. even though it's 3y younger, it doesnt need to hide behind it's bigger brother.

    really nice!
