    • Nose
      88 88
Cream, beeswax, honeycomb, floral, peach, unripe banana, coconut and subtle citrus, some faint butterscotch, nutty and quite spicy with clove and nutmeg.
    • Taste
      86 86
Pretty alcoholic and quite spicy, needs water. A creamy mouthfeel, wax, oily, vanilla, honey, bitter citrus, some unripe pear, a little fudgy, lots of oak wood spices like pepper and nutmeg.
    • Finish
      85 85
Long: very dry and warming, some waxy and honied sweet fruitiness (pear drops) shifting into loads of bitter wood spices. Maybe a bit too dryish, but still ok.

  2. Dre73 scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Nice whisky, full of taste, pretty strong alcohol later on, but very enjoyable.
    • Nose
      88 88
Lovely sweet and fruity, peach, honey, vanilla. Some banana too, and caramel. Alcohol very well integrated and dosed.
    • Taste
      87 87
Some pepper, tingling, strong. Sweet, peach, orange, honey, caramel as well. Later on, alcohol is getting stronger and stronger.
    • Finish
      88 88
Now a bit softer, still a full taste, sweet, caramel, honey, peach and orange. Pretty long. As time passes, alcohol gets more and more prominent.

  4. GlenSikkes did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

    Tasting Notes by Adelphi;

1 of only 247 bottles from cask no. 4715Good colour – aged copper lights, with a moderate beading. Slight prickle on the nose, increasing as the whisky warms and begins to open. Initial dried mixed herbs, with a trace of Chartreuse; then vanilla ice cream and set honey behind, with a tradititional Danish wood oil. Water immediately raises the keynote candlewax we expect from Clynelish, with coconut biscuits and vanilla creams. Mouthcoating, with a light sweetness and lively acidity, and a curious (natural) liquorice saltiness (this surprised us), with coconut and vanilla. A medium length, warming finish and lingering summer whin flowers in the aftertaste.

at the end a bit much alcohol, but nice warmth (85)

      more spicy, marzipan, sweet cornflakes.
